Amy Lane is an auto-buy for me, but I didn't realize that this wasn't put out by Dreamspinner Press--this is the "original" version of this series, not the professionally edited one. The editing in this is absolutely awful--some of the errors were truly cringeworthy--with two or three clunkers per page, and totally distracted me from the story. (Examples? Okay, in Spanish, a whore is a "puta", not a "punta". And it's mami/papi, not mommy/poppy. Ipod, i-pod, I-pod, and ipod all appear, sometimes on the same page. I could go on, but I won't.) If I had known, I would have bought the two-volume version, and I may still do that--reading this again would be too painful.Product details

I'm not good at writing these reviews, and I don't write many of them. However, in stumbling over this Little Goddess series last spring I felt compelled to review every book. Simply stated, Ms. Lane is my favorite author. If not before this book, she has just cemented that place and I will read anything that she writes. She is amazing.
Ok, I read this book in like 1 ½ days and my eyes are sooo tired, but I could not put it down.
This Fourth book, had everything from action (lots of it), love, drama (oh boy), and sex (burning hot) and that is what you want in a Paranormal Romance book. There are a few plots taking place in this book with (***spoilers***) the blackmail of Green's people, the rampant dirty nasty vampire, and Nicky's parents visit and the friend they bring with them. Our Cory, sure does kick butt in this book and her men and her people are right there along with her. She again shows strength, but also vulnerability. She makes you laugh in this book, but also cringe at times. I love each of her husbands, but Bracken has always held a special place in my heart. Well he got a lot of play in this book for Bracken lovers as Amy had promised us (Amy keep on bringing Bracken in Book 5). He is just the man and he is passionate lover to Cory, her friend and always side-by-side fighting with her. Did I say he was a passionate lover? Of course, Green is Green, right? He is understanding, and ever trying to protect Cory, and genuine. Who doesn't need a Green in their life? Then there is Nicky whose character plays a major role in this book since his parents come to visit and he is basically put in a position to chose his family or his people (Green's Hill) and we see where his loyalty truly lies. There were so many exciting new characters (Teague, Jacky, & Katy) and really good lines in this book that I enjoyed. Some other new characters introduced were Sam and Tanya, and I look forward to reading about them in the next installment. And, my favorite vampire outside of Adrian, the sexy Andres was also in this book and boy was that SCENE!!! I can't wait for Andres to return.
In sum, the book was great and Amy leaves you with your mouth left open and anxiously awaiting the next book at the end of this one. You will see what I mean. I was thinking like don't end it like that Amy, you can't do this to us!!!
If you have followed the Little Goddess series, you can attest that each book gets better. I definitely recommend this book and give ********(8 stars).
When I found Amy Lane and her Little Goddess series I read 1,2 and 3 voraciously....Each one had such special meaning, a coming of age, a growing up, and the clear feeling of "unconditional love" The characters are so well defined, the author makes you feel them as your own...She is true to them and who they are ...and they are true to us.
In Rampant, our Cory has grown up in the years we know her. She is learning how to temper her powers and with that comes more power. We have a wonderful story in book 4, going off in three different directions . One, we have a pedophile vampire in a Kiss in Redding that is turning children into vampires. Cory is needed to address this issue ...Another is the age old In-laws (Nicky's parents). They want to visit with their son, thinking he's made a terrible mistake with Cory as his wife and being on Greens Hill. With them they bring Annette and trouble ...The third story which I found facinating was Green finding the Hill in a blackmail situation.
We have our usual cast of Characters... Arturo and Grace play a smaller part this time, Jack and Teague and Caty (please read their story on Amy Lanes Website) join us and play a larger role, along with Nicky and his parents. We also meet a few new people Tanya and Sam and Annette. I loved the beginning of the book there was a Table of Characters so to speak. Reminding us of who we met and what there story was...A brilliant brush up after the time we had been away from the Hill
In Book 1 Vulnerable... I cried
In book 2 Wounded, I sobbed
In book 3 Bound, I had hope
In Book 4 Rampant I laughed, with its fun because they now were my friends...I know that Cory might puke and Nicky loses his socks ...I cried when Green prostituted himself and Cory found out, I loved that Cory let Bracken have that moment with Andres..Ohh...Andres another story....sometime??? I love Green and Cory and Bracken, all so broken and the strength they make together.And oh yes, it's still there what I felt from the first....Unconditional Love
Amy Lane I cannot give your stories enough praise. Your writing is so heartfelt....I feel these people....like you want me to...Its 10 stars as always
