A short story of a long life affected by war and the constant threat of death. We first meet "The Boy" in some sort of internment camp. Later, he becomes "The Man" and we see how the world he lives in has impacted the person he became. Finally, as "The Old Man," the nature of the world has changed and he chooses to change with it.I'd like to give this 5 stars, but the editing is iffy. It's been a lot of fun reading the stuff by Derwin Lester. His experience as a National Guard veteran gives him some good material to draw on. I look forward to future stories.
Updated (4/25/14): The story has been polished a little with basic editing. A lot easier to read now. 5/5!

This was a good short story and it also has a very valuable lesson. If only more people would learn it and take it to heart. I would recommend this story and author.
